Iran Cracks Down on bloggers , are we next ?
April 4, 2006
Saddly sometimes we in kuwait copy the worst of the others and not copy the good things
Now Iran is detaining some bloggers even if they other nationalty
What scary is this part
But is the government threatened because the tens of thousands of Iranian blogs are all throwing insults at it, or calling for revolution? Not quite.
The debates on Iranian weblogs are rarely political. The most common issues are cultural, social and sexual. Blogs also are a good place to chat in a society where young men and women cannot openly date. There are blogs that discuss women’s issues, and ones that deal with art and photography.
Which is kinda like our kuwaiti blogs
Lately i have noticed some more intrest in kuwait blogs , people talking about it , people that normaly wouldn’t venture deep in the internet , or read anything other than arabic .
Now we have a new press law in effect , some say it effect electroinic publishing as well , some say it doesn’t , and as kuwaiti tradtion , the law can be read many ways
Anyone knows a good lawyer ? :p
:)
, but not from kuwait.
I think that what is said on some kuwaiti newspaper is a lot worse than on kuwaiti blogs, and i am talkings about politics.
i would expect that from iran,, maybe saudi

The block was i think was to stop people from reading political blogs at that time
