Kareem Amer A blogger jailed are you next ?

A 22-year-old Egyptian blogger named Abdul Kareem Suleiman Amer assumed the handle ‘Kareem Amer’ on his blogblogong time ago but now people from around the world know him by this name. His blogblogtings, in favor of secularism and women’s rights, led to his expulsion from al-Azhal Azharrsity in early 2006 and solitary confinement in prison since November. This morning an Alexandria court sentenced Kareem to four years in prison for criticcriticizingian President Mubarak and insulting Islam
You may not agree with what Kareem said , but thats not the point , the point is people are getting jailed for saying what they think , your thoughts shouldn’t be jailed
yes i may not agree with at least 1/2 of the blogs that apear on safat agregator religous or political belifs but thats doesn’t mean i want to silince them , for to silence them is indicator that you are weak , your argument can’t not hold up to his argument
Our freedom is shrinking Isp blocking sites left and right , site begin hacked , i heard rumors of the internal secuirty employing newly captured hackers
Iran was cracking down on bloggers , now egypyt , i think we are close by

yeah i totally agree with u , if he’s arrested for sayin what he belives in or thinks of , then there’s no point in writin anymore… then what?? all bloggers should quit writin ??!!!
this is very seriously dangerous …what do u think we should do??
and what gets me quite angry is ppl who leave comments such as askin that kareem should have been sentenced uo to 10 yrs or worst hanged!!!! and what’s more stoopid ppl who come n call us names coz we defend kareem’s n all bloggers’ right in writin whatever they want to.
they are so damn ignorant n they don even have an opinion to support ..they don even try to convince us..they just are some barbarians.

It’s sad … I or people may not agree with what Kareem says, but we can’t say or do anything about it … They’re preventing him from his freedom of speech, and every person should have that …

i agree with u to a certain extent but even freedom of speech has to have limits, if there were no limits freedom would not exist. Every person is entitled to his own thoughts and beliefs but when by expressing them he crosses lines and hurts and insults others, thats when it should be stopped. I cant see how he can just sit there and insult and demean such a sacred thing be it any religion or institute, and dont do anything about it and punish him for what he has done.
