Blogger Blocked or weak ISP ?

March 11, 2007

From the all reports from blogs like Fonzation & Zaydon Kems has blocked Blogger Site from view

Now Kems is famous for Blocking Sites when anyone demand it , i’m not pointing fingers but we remmber When aljasim site was blocked by Kems without any Court order or Even a writ en order from anyone ( which could be challenged )

Now any old Internet User in Kuwait would remember Kems as hell , As the one company which Ruined the Internet Fun for users
Dail-up which took 2-3 hours to connect and only stayed for 2 hours connected ( provided you were active on it ) and was slow and you had to pay 65 kd ( 45 if you were a student ) per month for that lousy service

We need Some kind of Law for Internet in Kuwait , you can’t just add a Filter Software and block as you like , you can’t block sites because some guy from State security Called and told you so , there should be written order by a committee to block site and you can challenge them on that verdict , not just block without any idea why or merit

Speaking of Kems i just checked the site
It has couple of problems
1- Its a comapny that offer serivce in kuwait , which the main spoken languge is arabic yet the site has no arabic section
2- The Site has no information about the company , who own it ..etc checking the other ISP sites in Kuwait Qualitynet Has a whole section about who own it
same thing with Fasttelco not to mention United Networks

  2. I use Zajil and their service is amazing .. there is no other ISP that compares in terms of price, speed and quality. Blogger is not blocked .. relax.

  3. I think they just screwed up with the blocking thing, but overall I think KEMS has improved its services. There was one man working in the company back in the day that brought it down, and he is no longer there.

Overall I have to say that KEMs has been good at home and at the office, so I can’t complain really.

  4. i’m on kems/zajil and i was blocked from my blogger blog last night till about this morning.

i do like their service nowadays, its bloody fast and i’m getting more bandwidth than i signed up for. plus no silly data caps like the other crappy services.

but you gotta wonder what they had in mind with this little glitch of theirs,…. somethings afoot and it smells fishy :P

  5. As I know Zajil ends up with Kems, the filter should apply. From what I’ve seen and heard, no ISP is worth the money we are paying. We just have to pick one of them.

  6. For all of you guys!!!
FastTelco is not bad at all. I have been with them for 4 years. They deliver more than what they promise even though I was quite hesitant at first cause they were relative new on the block. No majr complains unless there is a major problem with the whole Internet or coutry like that recent fire… Other than that, it was smooth. They answer the phone promptly and most important, they dont hire pushy Kuwaiti salesmen. It was the main reason why I backed away from Quality, cause they were quite pushy, and I didnt like their Kuwaiti style of selling!!!
KEMS? one word for them, they are a piece of junk!!! Not worth a penny (fils). They stole my money and never payed it back! Crooks!
