Bayan Fee

Whats up with that ?
i bought a DVD as a present for someone and had it shipped with DHL , now DHL is more expensive than other carriers but that was okay i was in a bit of hurry for that present
they gave me an Estimated Arrival as October 12, 2007
so i check Amazon Tracking and its says
October 11, 2007 XX:XX:00 AM KUWAIT KUWAIT Arrival Scan
funny thing ,, today DHL came to deliver it ( October 16 , 5 days after it got to Kuwait and 4 days late from estimate ) , not only late but they demanded 5 KD extra , for what ? they claim Bayan Fee and when i asked for a paper for that Bayan fee , at first they claim its the custom , and when i check the custom paper it says ? ” معفى من الرسوم ” aka Exempt , so i demand to know what is that extra 5 KD , he call someone on his mobile who claim its an extra tariff’s i tell them I’m not paying anything extra for the hell of it , its not on an official paper , its just DHL invoice that say 5kd Bayan Fee ,, i could print one at my house and say ;
20 KD Bayan Fee
40 KD Shamiya Fee
30 KD Jarah Fee
I already paid for the shipping , i’m not paying extra to get it to me ! what kind of concept these paper run on ? charge and if you can charge more ?
I tried Aramex’s shop and ship. It was so good in the beginning, but then they started to vegetate my shipment for a few days until they send them to me.
And they started shipping different items separately although they were in my US box in the same time so that they take a KD 2.5 consignment fee for each shipment. They got the KD 2.5 and lost my trust.
I’m so bitter too about it. But you taught them a lesson.

interesting. i have recently been suspecting aramex of doing the same with regards to bringing consolidated shipments on seperate dates. did not keep accurate records but i think i will start doing so now that i see this comment.

Things are getting ridiculous with them, and Aramex has increased their prices. Also customs change the rules every time they want without notice, at the end we get screwed! This is getting annoying!

Same crap happened to me, i sent some stuff from the US to my family in Kuwait and they charged them an extra 20 KD .. i paid $250 to get the stuff to Kuwait, but why the extra 20?!?!

OMG i am so glad you all shared this info .. becuz I was just getting ready to start my mini business through aramex .. and The other day they pissed me off .. they told me their working hours in Kuwait city office are from 8:00 - 5 and I arrived there at 4:15 waited till maybe 5:00 the office was closed till someone passing told me they closed early today for the hoilday now couldn’t they mention that when I talked to them .. so unprofessional ..
are there any good and resonable shipping companies in Kuwait that are better to deal .
