some of you may already know that , but if you didn’t , yahoo bought flickr
they do say that
Yahoo Photos and Flickr have different kinds of users with different needs, and will remain separate for the foreseeable future
but that what they said about geocities way back , before i left because they changed the TOS
and i just got pro account yesterday 🙁
It was the monthly kuwait bloggers meetup , this time we went to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf a very nice establishment , i was there a bit early ( i always try to get early if i have a meeting or interview or date with someone , getting early is better than getting late )
anyway , it was a nice to attach faces and sound to bloggers , first to come was the crazy afro man , tatabotata his afro is something you don’t see a lot here in kuwait
then Nibaq or as some call him blogging godfather
then Bloboz the man with crazy thought , the man you always agree with , the blogger who everyone enjoy his posts they steal it
then busynow ( i’m out of crazy naming 🙁 )
we sat there , talked about blogging , gossiped about some bloggers , one of us had too much gossip
disucssed latest topic , then it became general chat , the topics ( سوالف ) just drift going here and there.
meeting strangers is a new experince for me , of course this is the second meeting with bloggers , most who i met in the first meeting ( bloboz was the new guy , and he got a friend with him , maybe to back him up ? 😛 )
of course since there is a month gap between each meeting and the other we got to talk about what happened to our life , sometimes there are stuff you wouldn’t want to post in a blog, but would talk about it normaly with friends
thanks for the fun night blogpals© 🙂
the fad now is E-government , everyone want everything online , some make it , some don’t
of course since we in kuwait enjoy participating in fads , they started kuwait e-government
some Ministries have working functioning sites , with much help online
for example Public Authority for Civil Information have
Civil ID Enquiry Service ( of course you get more service in arabic , since its the offical language in kuwait )
saddly most Ministries have sites that only have normal information , no updated statistic , or service that they perform and give it to us online .
for example Ministry of Intertior ( again english site suck and you have to use arabic ) has no statistic so ever , you could ( for a short time , around 2 days after they opened the site ) check your tickets online , which is great , better than calling and waiting for someone to pick it up , then they removed it .
of course , knowing how stuff work in kuwait , they had it open for a few days , showed it to the Minister and select others who happen to control the contracts for renewal …etc , and afte they saw it they don’t care about it anymore and since it take resource they took it down
the first link to the e-government site could help you people working on Kuwiki so go and and write more , don’t let me and nibaq article stay lonely 🙂
Great! Not only you get called lazy ass when you play Online PC games and people think bad about you
Now companies help the freaking stereotype!
You’re in luck – pizza is just a few key strokes away! While playing EverQuest II just type /pizza and a web browser will launch the online ordering section of pizzahut.com. Fill in your info and just kick back until fresh pizza is delivered straight to your door.
look, I played online games, and yes I’m lazy, BUT NOT THAT LAZY, I could always take a time off to eat, hell one of my friend who I played with always took time off without telling us and went to eat, I stopped playing and went to eat with the family when it was time for lunch, but my god! Ordering while playing! Can’t you Dial the freaking number, what’s next? /clean room .
Speaking of which, I found this
Which I think isn’t a bad idea, but I wouldn’t do something like, I read in my bathroom 🙂
flicker is amazing , i have a user name there , and upload picture from time to time
amazing sites spwan other amazing sites that use it
is an application that explores the social relationships inside , you use it by entering your username or e-mail ( if you have a flickr account and you have contacts in flickr ) its fun and show you how some people are multi connected and how some aren’t ( like me 🙁 )
Flickr world map
is a world map using flickr pictures and tags
The map plots 1200 random cities from a pool of 36539 from all over the world
of course each time i refresh and see what we have in kuwait i get one of Miskan pictures , maybe because he over use tags ?
